Statue of RONNIE JAMES DIO unveiling in Kavarna: images of the video, available photos

The official unveiling of the monument dedicated to metal heavy legendary singer Ronnie James Dio in the Bulgarian coastal town of the Black Sea of Kavarna took place yesterday (Saturday 23 October). Dio Road Manager Steve Mignardi and DIO drummer Simon Wright (who already played with DC/AC) attended the event. Alexander Petrov and Krasimir Krastev - Lomsky sculptors spend two months working on the project, which is more than two metres (about six-and-a-half feet) and is combined with stones from the sea. The statue, which was funded entirely by donations, was placed in the central park of the city, within the framework of the-at-soon built "Allée rock," a project approved by the municipal Council, four years ago.

According to radio the Bulgaria, the decision to erect the monument was taken by the municipal administration, with the most active developers, Mayor of Kavarna Tzonko Tzonev leader journalists, musicians and singers.

A replica of the monument has posted three days Kavarna Rock Fest in July and a model of plaster statue was created later, marking the last stage of preparation for its construction.

Dio was reportedly one of the earliest rock icons heavy play Kavarna.In fact, he performed not less than five times in Bulgaria, and actively participated in the campaign to free Bulgarian nurses, detained in the prison in Libya for eight years.

Ronnie James Dio was one of the most respected and most talented purely rock, renowned for its instantly recognizable vocals, lyrics and scénographie.Le fictious 16 May 2010, Ronnie succumbed to cancer of the stomach at the age of 67, and hard rock world has lost one of its greatest talents.
